The University of the Philippines Visayas Museum of Art and Cultural Heritage (UPV MACH) received another artwork donation. Architect and artist Oscar J. Peñasales turned over his untitled abstract acrylic painting to OICA Director Martin Genodepa recently following the signing of the Deed of Donation.
The College of Fisheries and Ocean Sciences (CFOS) equipped BS Fisheries (BSF) students with life-long learning knowledge and skills to help them navigate their academic journey at UP Visayas (UPV) through the conduct of an activity entitled “Fostering Academic Development for Lifelong Learning of CFOS Students” on August 29-30, 2024 at the CFOS AV Hall, UPV Miagao campus.
In celebration of its 49th anniversary and National Heroes' Day, the UP Hamilia Sisterhood, in cooperation with the UP Hamili Brotherhood, successfully organized a bloodletting event titled "Red Tag Day" on August 31, 2024, which ran from 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM. The event took place at the Graduate and Continuing Education Building (GCEB), UPV City Campus.
The country honored Gawad Manlilikha ng Bayan Frederico “Tuohan” Caballero with a state funeral and full military honors at his hometown in Calinog, Iloilo on September 3, 2024 on the day of his burial. The date was also declared by Malacañang Palace as the Day of Mourning. As provided by law, the national flag shall be flown at half-fast from sunrise to sunset on all government buildings and installations throughout the Philippines and abroad.
The personnel of the Digital Innovation Center (DIC) convened for a two-day strategic planning workshop and formulation of operations manual from August 27 to 28, 2024 at Diversion 21 Hotel, Iloilo City. The activity aims to align with UP and UPV’s mandates as the information technology organization of the University of the Philippines Visayas (UPV).
