The Tourism Related Initiatives Anchoring on Local History and Culture project under the Tourism Studies on Island Based Opportunities for Growth (TSIBOG) Program in Western Visayas organized the activity “Conversations on Local History and Culture, Heritage Promotion, and Eco-Tourism” last November 25-26, 2021 at the Pandan Multi-Purpose Cooperative function hall, Antique. The activity aimed to create an avenue of conversations to enhance and strengthen Pandan’s local capacities and knowledge on history, culture, and heritage promotion as integral components and pathways for sustainable tourism.

A total of 16 artworks from three local artists were donated to the University of the Philippines Visayas (UPV) Art Gallery through the signing of the deed of donation on December 6, 2021.

Early Christmas presents were shared with the Iraynon Bukidnon indigenous peoples of Brgy. Latazon and Brgy. San Ramon in Laua-an, Antique, on December 2 and 3, 2021. 

It has become a tradition for the University of the Philippines Visayas to usher in the holiday season with a ceremonial lighting of its main campus in Miagao and its Iloilo City campus. UPV did just that on December 1, 2021. Weeks prior to the event, the personnel of the Campus Maintenance and Development Office were busy installing the Christmas décor and lights at both campuses.

This comes as FAMAS (Filipino Academy of Movie Arts and Sciences), the country’s leading award-giving body made the announcement in its nominee reveal event on December 1st 2021. 

The Deed of Donation for an additional 386 sq. m. to be added to the UP Visayas Extension Campus in Antique was signed at UP Visayas Iloilo City campus on November 29, 2021.
