University of the Philippines Visayas Chancellor Dr. Clement Camposano reiterates the call for Ilonggos to register for the vaccination program as the country faces an alarming spike of cases in the past few weeks.

“When opportunity comes your way, don’t forget to invite if for dinner,” says Dr. Philip Ian Padilla, Vice-Chancellor for Academic Affairs, during his opening remarks for the Career Talk 2021 last February 23, 2021. Career Talk is an annual program of the Office of Student Affairs that aims to equip the university's graduating students with skills and advice for their journeys after graduation. With the advent of the current pandemic and increasing unemployment rates, the university opened the program to all who might need it through remote platforms.

The Office of Student Affairs held a two-day seminar-workshop on the office's role in establishing a quality assurance system in UPV using the ASEAN University Network-Quality Assurance (AUN-QA). Prof. Steve P. Janagap, Chair of the UPV Academic Assessment and Development Committee, served as the speaker, while Ms. Roeyna May A. Famisaran acted as facilitator. The seminar was conducted last March 10 and 17, 2021, at the Audio-Visual Room of the Teaching and Learning Resource Center of the College of Arts and Sciences in UPV Miagao Campus. Attendee’s adhered to IATF protocols, while UPV Tacloban Campus joined through remote platforms.

“We may be physically apart due to COVID-19, but we are grateful for the technology that allows us to be together…… there is so much to be grateful for even in this time of the pandemic,” was the upbeat and encouraging opening statement of UPV Chancellor Clement C. Camposano during the Graduate Orientation Program held on 27 March 2021 via Zoom. He then proceeded to share his 5-point agenda and his vision for UP Visayas. His agenda includes 1) building on strengths in teaching, research, and public service; 2) deepening engagement with our communities; 3) leaning towards meaningful change in education; 4) defending and promoting diversity and inclusion in our campuses, and 5) reinvigorating democratic governance in the university. Chancellor Camposano also introduced his management team, which is composed of Dr. Philip Ian Padilla (Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs), Dr. Harold M. Monteclaro (Vice Chancellor for Research and Extension). Dr. Rhodella Ibabao (Vice Chancellor for Planning and Development) and Prof. John Lorenz Belanio (Vice Chancellor for Administration).
