The University Library proudly welcomed its newest team members, reinforcing its commitment to provide top-tier services to its patrons. With the ever-evolving needs of students and faculty, the addition of skilled and dedicated professionals ensures continued excellence in library operations.
Joining the University Library are Mr. John Carlo C. Napatal, Administrative Aide VI; Ms. Gyca F. Magusara, Administrative Aide IV; and Ms. Gem Burneth E. Lacambra, Librarian I. Mr. Napatal and Ms. Magusara step into vital administrative roles, filling positions vacated due to retirement, while Ms. Lacambra takes on a pivotal role in modernizing library services.
Bringing his expertise as an IT graduate, Mr. Napatal is responsible for managing the library's software and hardware systems. His proficiency extends to digitization processes, including Optical Character Recognition (OCR), which will streamline access to digital resources.
Ms. Magusara, previously from the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Administration, brings a strong background in record management. Her role focuses on the management of documents coming in and out of the library’s Administrative Section, making sure everything stays organized and runs smoothly. Her experience in client service will be invaluable in ensuring smooth administrative operations.
As a tech-savvy Gen Z librarian, Ms. Lacambra will play a key role in the upcoming launch of the Institutional Repository of the UPV University Library. Her passion for technology, community service, and short video editing adds a dynamic perspective to the library’s evolving digital initiatives.

The new team members officially joined the University Library at the beginning of 2025, marking an exciting step toward innovation and improved service delivery. Their contributions will undoubtedly enhance the library’s role as a hub of knowledge and learning for the university community.
