Personnel and students of the University of the Philippines Visayas (UPV) took part in the opening festivities of the municipality of Miagao’s 309th Foundation Anniversary and 27th Salakayan Festival, on Feb. 3, 2025.
The group from UPV, led by Chancellor Clement Camposano, joined the opening salvo and float parade of the town's weeklong celebration organized by the Local Government Unit of Miagao.
Student organizations UPV Miagaowanons, UPV Duces, and the UPV University Student Council participated in the parade as well.
A number of UPV staff attended the Salakayan Mass at the St. Tomas of Villanova Parish Church before the start of the parade.
The celebration, with the theme, “Progresibo nga Miagao: Magapadayon Para sa Kadarag-an Sang Banwa Naton,” runs from Feb. 2-9, 2025.
