UP Visayas (UPV) ranked 1 among the five top performing schools with eight graduates in the top 10 highest places in the October 2024 Fisheries Professionals Licensure Examination.
The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) Board of Fisheries Technology announced on October 16, 2024 that UPV garnered a passing rate of 97.67% with 42 passers out of 43 examinees.
AJ March B. Felongco from the College of Fisheries and Ocean Sciences (CFOS) led the newly registered fisheries professionals.
With an average score of 91.75%, Felongco ranked first place in the said licensure exam that took place on October 10-11, 2024.
Seven more graduates from UPV were among the 21 successful examinees who garnered the 10 highest places. They were:
Julie Ann Claire N. Nique with an average rating of 90. 75 percent, rank 4th; Thea Irish B.Pentason with an average score of 90.25 percent, rank 6th; Bea Isobelle A. Villaluz with an average rating of 89.75 percent; rank 7th; Cryssele Anne S. Barniso, Vyenge Erre D. Gayosa, Ma. Sandrei D. Sarmiento, and Sylamar S. Sañor, all get an average rating of 89 percent, rank 10th.
According to PRC, a total of 1, 005 out of 1, 509 (66.60%) takers successfully passed the said board exam.
