Fifteen DOST-ASTHRDP scholars from the University of the Philippines Visayas participated in this year’s event. Ms. Maila V. Pan, PhD Fisheries graduate, and Mr. James Ariel M. Nim, MS Biology graduate, presented their research studies in the oral parallel session under Category 1 (Agricultural and Environmental Sciences) and Category 2 (Biological and Health Sciences), respectively. Meanwhile, the rest of the UPV scholar participants showcased their studies through poster presentations.
The 11th Graduate Scholars’ Conference with the theme, “DOST-SEI ASTHRDP Scholars for a Resilient, Unified, and Sustainable Philippines,” was conducted last September 26-27, 2023 at the Philippine International Convention Center (PICC), Manila.
Dr. Harold N. Monteclaro and Prof. Leonilo F. Endoma, Jr. were invited to serve as moderators and judges for the oral and poster presentations. Dr. Rowena Paz L. Gelvezon, UPV ASTHRDP Project Leader, and the Project Staff, Ms. Janice S. Naquita and Ms. Lounelyn Grace N. Morada, were also present.
This annual event of the Department of Science and Technology—Science Education Institute serves as a platform for DOST graduate scholars to share the outputs of their research and exchange ideas with other consortium universities.
