The University of the Philippines Visayas (UPV) DanceSport team joined and won awards at the first-ever UP System Oblation Sports – Dance Sport Championship 2024 hosted by UP Cebu last June 8-9, 2024 at the GMall, Cebu City. The two-day event was participated by the various dancesport teams in Cebu City and the country. The UP Closed DanceSport Championship is composed of various UP College Units namely, UP Cebu, UP Diliman, UP Mindanao, UP Tacloban College, and UP Visayas.
Nine talented students from various colleges of UP Visayas represented the university together with their coach, Asst. Prof. Rhoma Grace Pandan of the Department of Physical Education, who also competed in the teacher-guest category, with Mr. Patrick Ivan Sa-ato as guest partner. Asst. Prof. Teresita Portugalete coached the students for the Latin American category.
