UPV CM students share conference proceeds to the IP community in Janiuay, Iloilo

A successful turn over of donation to Onyok Magbanua, Tribal Chieftain of the Ati Community in Matag-ub, Janiuay, Iloilo, through the Panay Indigenous Culture Advocacy Group (PICAG), was made last December 22, 2023 as the chosen beneficiary by the CRM Conference 2023.

CRM Conference is an annual seminar organized by 4th-year Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, major in Marketing students from the University of the Philippines - Visayas with the theme, “Taralets AdvenTour!: Exploring Data-Driven Customer Service in the Tourism Industry.” As part of the conference’s initiative to help businesses and communities thrive, a portion of the generated profit from the seminar was donated to a partner Indigenous Peoples Community in Panay under the Panay Indigenous Culture Advocacy Group (PICAG).

PICAG is a group of individuals dedicated to preserving and promoting the rich cultural heritage of the indigenous communities through research and cultural work. They have various initiatives and programs to support and advocate for the rights of Indigenous Peoples of Panay.  Ms. Anna Razel Ramirez, a member of the group, facilitated the transfer of donation to the beneficiaries.

The support and participation of the conference’s participants, sponsors, and partners have turned into something more meaningful, contributing a portion of CRMCon’s profit to a worthy cause. CRM Conference, through the facilitation of PICAG, was able to donate 50 sacks of cement and P6,000 worth of money for the transportation, food, and other expenses incurred in fixing the community’s road.
