The Government Procurement Policy Board - Technical Support Office (GPPB-TSO) is hosted a three-day 2024 Procurement Summit themed ๐๐ฒ๐๐ฒ๐ฟ๐ฎ๐ด๐ถ๐ป๐ด ๐๐ผ๐ฐ๐ฎ๐น ๐ ๐ฆ๐ ๐๐ ๐ณ๐ผ๐ฟ ๐๐ป๐ฐ๐น๐๐๐ถ๐๐ฒ ๐ฎ๐ป๐ฑ ๐ฆ๐๐๐๐ฎ๐ถ๐ป๐ฎ๐ฏ๐น๐ฒ ๐ฃ๐ฟ๐ผ๐ฐ๐๐ฟ๐ฒ๐บ๐ฒ๐ป๐ from October 22-23, 2024 at the GPPB-TSO Building, Commonwealth Avenue, Diliman, Quezon City. The Summit provided participants from the business sector, national government agencies, local government units, and state universities and colleges with a variety of activities.
On the first day, the plenary session focused on "Advancing Inclusivity and Sustainability in Procurement Through Local MSMEs." This insightful discussion took place after the official opening and inauguration of the Procurement Summit, led by Secretary Amenah F. Pangandaman from the Department of Budget and Management, along with Executive Director Atty. Rowena Candice M. Ruiz of the GPPB-TSO and other esteemed guests. The salient features of the New Government Procurement Act and a supplier consultation were tackled in the afternoon break-out sessions.
The second day was filled with engaging breakout sessions covering various topics, including Building Supplier Relationships, Support and Resources for MSMEs, Understanding Budgeting Rules from a Supplierโs Perspective, and The Government e-MarketPlace.
The third dayโs topics for break-out sessions are supposedly on Advancing Womenโs Economic Empowerment through Gender-Responsive Procurement, Greening the PH Procurement, the Salient Features of New Government Procurement Act, and Supplier Registration and Requirements. However, the third day had to be cancelled following the suspension of government work due to inclement weather conditions.
Also available in the Summit was a Procurement Clinic for consultations and legal queries, and Sustaindahan which provided local MSMEs with a platform to showcase and sell sustainable products.
The Summit was well attended by participants from both procuring entities and MSMEs/merchant suppliers. The delegates from UP Visayas are Ms. Julie Ann H. Cala-or (SPSO Personnel and BAC Secretariat), Ms. Rogema T. Moncerate (SPSO Personnel and BAC Secretariat), Mr. Kimar D. Gargarita (BAC Secretariat), Atty. Scarlette Joy N.
