On the occasion of the 76th Year of UP Presence in Iloilo, the Ugnayan ng Pahinungod of UP Visayas joined the celebration to also mark its 30th anniversary this year through, “Mainstreaming the UPV Animal Care Program.” The Animal Care Program was launched at the Miagao campus on August 4, 2023 with the inauguration of Balay Kalagday.
On September 27, 2023, personnel from the UPV Security Service Force, janitorial services and Pahinungod volunteers were recipients of anti-rabies shots administered by the Miagao LGU through the Municipal Health Office. On the same day Pahinungod also joined the Students Orgs Fair: Pagtambung, by putting up its own booth along the road of the dormitories with its partners, Project PAWradise and San Miguel Foods Inc.,
On the second day, September 28, 2023, Pahinungod partnered with the Municipal Agriculture Office of the Miagao to vaccinate pets and stray animals in the entire campus. Assisted by the UPV SSF, the team combed the dorms and staff house areas and went from building to building to get this done.
The Ugnayan ng Pahinungod is a system-wide volunteer service program of the University of the Philippines.
