Over 180 benefit from UPIS 5th medical-dental cum circumcision mission

More than 180 Miagaoanons benefited from the University of the Philippines Ichthyophilic Society’s (UPIS) recent medical dental cum circumcision mission on April 27, 2019 at the covered court, UP Visayas Miagao campus.

Now on its 5th year, the 2019 mission targeted residents of the selected five coastal barangays of the municipality of  Miagao, namely Barangays Maringyan, Lanutan, Narat-an, Oyungan, and San Rafael.

The mission featured free medical check-up, tooth extraction, circumcision services with provision of free medicines, vitamins, and food. The activity has served more or less 1500 recipients since the project was implemented in 2015.

Founded in 1965, UPIS is a socio-academic organization of the College of Fisheries and Ocean Sciences, UP Visayas in pursuit of uplifting the fisheries profession.

UPIS was grateful to their sponsors and partners for making this year's mission possible and successful. 

The student organization also organized and conducted a raffle promo to support the annual activity. (With reports from UPIS)
