The Office of the Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs (OVCAA) conducted a workshop titled World University Rankings and Institutional Scientific Research Strengthening from 19-20 March 2024 at Hotel del Rio, Molo, Iloilo City.
Dr. Don Eliseo Lucero-Prisno III served as resource person for the activity. Dr. Prisno is a global health scientist who has published more than 300 scientific articles, books, and scientific reports. He serves as the editor-in-chief of Public Health Challenges (Wiley) and Deputy Editor-in-Chief of BMC Global Health Research and Policy.
The workshop aimed to provide a comprehensive understanding of the relationship between global university rankings and effective research publication and institutional research strategies. It tackled practical and effective guidance on improving research visibility, quality, and impact to influence global rankings and reputation.
The activity was attended by faculty members and research staff from the University of the Philippines Visayas, UP Open University, UP Los Baños, UP Baguio, Guimaras State University, Aklan State University, Capiz State University, University of Antique, Northern Iloilo State University, and Iloilo State University of Fisheries Science and Technology.
