In an endeavor to develop the essence of leadership and governance among student leaders in selected high schools in Iloilo, four first year students from the University of the Philippines Visayas (UPV) conducted a program called The Leadership Launchpad (TLLP) in Guimbal National High School last April 27, 2024 and in Kirayan National High School, Miagao on May 18, 2024. The undertaking is a student project for the National Service Training Program - Civil Welfare Training Service.
Planned by ‘LaunchPals’ Sean Arañez, Yzabelle Butas, and Sheia Cloma, BSBA (Marketing); and Charlotte Caldeo, BS Public Health, The Leadership Launchpad is an informative training hub aimed to foster collaboration and camaraderie among budding student leaders in their respective schools. The LaunchPals, as pioneers of TLLP, have made initiatives to share their experiences and expertise as former high school student leaders to the participants of the program.
The daylong training is a combination of hub lectures, games, and competitive activities as well as the sharing of experiences and ideas on student leadership. At the end of the activity, an open forum was conducted which was followed by the distribution of awards and certificates to the participants.
