Dr. Johannes Magpusao of the School of Technology, University of the Philippines Visayas, actively participated in the 21st IUFoST World Congress of Food Science and Technology held in Marina Bay Sands in Singapore. She gave an oral presentation of part of her Ph.D. research titled ”Impact of mechanical processing on rheological and compositional properties of microalgal suspensions.”
She also presented a poster titled “Health-promoting properties of microalgae Arthrospira sp. and Nannochloropsis sp. treated with high-pressure homogenisation.”
Held last October 31 to November 3, 2022, the World Congress, with the theme “Future of Food – Innovation, Sustainability and Health,” aimed to invigorate discussions of knowledge in those scientific disciplines and technologies that can expand and improve the sustainability of the world’s food supply.
Touted as the “Congress with the Industry and Academia for the Practitioners,” this event was hosted by the Singapore Institute of Food Science & Technology (SIFST) with the endorsement of the International Union of Food Science and Technology (IUFoST) and strong support from the Singapore Tourism Board (STB).
