The Center for West Visayan Studies (CWVS) was one of the recipients of the Heritage Award from the Iloilo City Government and the Iloilo City Local Culture and Arts Council (ICLCAC) in a program held last July 12, 2024 at Diversion 21 Hotel, Iloilo City.
The “Heritage Award” is given to individuals and organizations for their outstanding contribution in promoting Ilonggo culture and heritage.
In appreciation of their achievements and to honor the awardees, the ICLCAC hosted the 2024 Iloilo City Heritage Awards Night.
Founded on 26 June 1975, CWVS, formerly known as the Visayan Studies Program (VSP), was established to respond to the need for a concerted effort to preserve and disseminate information about the cultural and historical legacy of Western Visayas.
Director Frances Anthea R. Redison, together with the CWVS personnel, Ophelia Balogo, Sashah Dioso, Darlene Calsado, and Faith Saraza received the award.
