Four faculty members from the University of the Philippines Visayas completed the External Quality Assurance Reviewers Training from 13-17 November 2023 at the University of the Philippines Los Baños.
The participants from UPV were Dr. Ma. Regina Altamirano and Dr. Adrienne Marrie Bugayong-Janagap from the College of Arts and Sciences, Dr. Joemel Sumbing from School of Technology, and Dr. Mary Rose Rebueno from the College of Management.
Organized by the Office of the Vice President for Academic Affairs, the training aimed to equip the participants with knowledge on quality assurance (QA) and their corresponding roles and responsibilities as UP QA Officers and/or external QA reviewers; equip the participants with knowledge and skills in conducting a quality assurance degree program review; develop the participants’ capacity to conduct a quality assurance desktop review for a program; develop the participants’ capacity to conduct a quality assurance site visit for a program inclusive of stakeholders’ interview, site tour, and document review; and develop the participants’ capacity to write quality assurance program review feedback, reports, and presentations.
UPV’s Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs Dr. Philip Ian Padilla served as one of the trainers for the activity.
