A total of 218 women employees from the two campuses of the University of the Philippines Visayas (UPV) availed of pampering services through the Gender and Development Program (GDP).
The GDP held the “Pampering Day” at the UPV Miagao and Iloilo City campuses on March 13 and 20, respectively, as part of its activities for this year’s Women’s Month celebration.
The services included manicures, pedicures, haircuts, back massages, and foot reflexes.
Of the total number of clients, 138 women employees availed of services at the Miagao campus and 80 at the Iloilo City campus.
GDP also distributed brochures on gender-related laws, such as the Anti-Violence Against Women and their Children Act of 2004, the Anti-Rape Law of 1997, the Magna Carta of Women, the Anti-Sexual Harassment Act of 1995, the Bawal Bastos Law, and the 105-Day Expanded Maternity Leave law.
Pampering Day is an annual activity by GDP to show appreciation and celebrate the women employees of the University.
GDP has also held other activities for Women’s Month, including seminars and talks, health and wellness sessions, and the opening of a bazaar.
