Laboratory Technician II - RRC

Position: Laboratory Technician II, SG-8 (UP Contractual)

Minimum Qualifications:

• Completion of two years study in college
• 1 year of relevant experience
• 4 hours of relevant training
• Laboratory Technician Eligibility (CSC MC No. 10, s. 2013 Skills Eligibility - Category II)*

 Preferred Competencies:

1. Preferably with Bachelor’s Degree in Food Technology, Chemistry, Fisheries, or similar courses
2. Ability to thrive in high throughput environment; excellent laboratory skills; with strong
   instrumentation background
3. Effective team player, meticulous, quality–oriented
4. Knowledgeable in basic food-processing techniques and operations.

Job Description:

• Maintain updated inventories and order stocks and resources needed by the laboratories including those needed by the researcher.
• Facilitate the procurement of laboratory supplies, chemicals and equipment in coordination with other laboratory staff and Administrative Officer
• Perform laboratory hygiene duties such as disposal of laboratory wastes and observance of safe storage and handling protocols in coordination with the RRC Management
• Perform other related duties as required by the immediate supervisor 
• Assist laboratory maintenance and facilitate laboratory services
